Certificates
Certificates in PDF format can be automatically generated and downloaded for completed programmes and programme groups. See also: Programme participants > Completed certificates. For this to work, a template must first be created for such a certificate. Such a template defines the appearance and the requirements for the certificate. Special placeholder elements can be used which are automatically filled with specific data when the template is created.
Create certificate template
Starting from the certificate overview, click on the New button at the top right to open the form for creating a new certificate template.
The form consists of 5 parts:
⤷ Programme certificate,
⤷ General,
⤷ PDF generation > Cover,
⤷ PDF generation > Details,
⤷ PDF generation > Attachment,
these parts/sections in the form are documented individually under Certificate Form.
Certificate form
Programme certificate
Programme
In order for Campus Events to display the correct information on the certificate, the programme within which the certificate can be obtained must be selected. It is not possible to select more than one programme. The selection of the programme determines which required programme(s/groups) may be selected under General.
Note: Once saved, the defined programme for the certificate can no longer be changed.
General
Define general settings and requirements for the certificate.
Active
- Yes: If the requirements for the certificate are met by participants, Campus Events generates the corresponding certificate. The generated certificate can be downloaded under Programme Participants > Achieved certificates.
- No: Campus Events ignores the corresponding certificate, it is considered a draft.
Designation
The designation can be used to identify and distinguish certificates in the overview. The name can be displayed on the cover and details page and is also available as a placeholder C_NAME in the selection [P], see PDF generation > Cover > Cover text and PDF generation > Details > Template PDF.
Required credits
The number of credits that must be achieved in order to activate the certificate.
Required programme(s)/group(s)
Require one or more programme(s)/group(s) for the certificate.
PDF generation > Cover
The first page - design the front of the certificate.
Template PDF
The template PDF can be uploaded and serves as the background for the front of the certificate. It can contain any content such as the logo of the institution, the name of the programme and other graphic and textual elements. The cover of the certificate is generated based on the template PDF, with the individual information of the respective participant superimposed on top. In this way, data can be separated from the design of the certificate.
Page margins
A DIN A4 document has the following dimensions: 210 mm x 297 mm.
The limits of the title and cover text content can be restricted by specifying the page margins. The minimum step size of the values is 0.01.
The origin of the spacing or the X, Y specifications for the title and text is located in the top left-hand corner of the A4 document. The position of the content on the A4 document is determined using the coordinates X for the horizontal axis and Y for the vertical axis.
Show title?
Specify whether and how a title should be displayed. If activated, further settings are displayed to design the title of the cover.
⤷ Title position
The title on the cover corresponds to the name defined under General.
If both fields X and Y are left blank or X=0 and Y=0, the title is hidden on the front and not displayed on the certificate.
To display the title, at least one of the fields X, Y must have a value greater than 0.
⤷ Title Style Attributes (CSS)
Use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to design the title of the cover.
Show cover text?
Specify whether a cover text should be displayed. If activated, further settings are displayed to define the cover text.
⤷ Cover text position
If both fields X and Y are left blank or X=0 and Y=0, the cover text is hidden on the front and not displayed on the certificate.
To display the cover text, at least one of the fields X, Y must have a value greater than 0 to determine the position.
⤷ Cover text
A formatted and automatically customisable text can be defined on the front using placeholders. A rich text editor is available to design the cover text. This allows content to be created and formatted in a similar way to a word processing programme.
⤷Signature selection from
Specify which signatures are to be displayed on the cover. Under Signature, you can select from a list of stored users whose stored signature is to be displayed on the cover. It must be ensured that a digital signature has been stored for the selected user.
PDF generation > Details
Design the second page - details page of the certificate.
The form section for the details page is very similar to PDF generation > Details, as everything works in the same way, only the newly added content is documented below.
Insert detail table
The detail table contains information on the successfully completed programme(s).
The module element results from the link between the course and the programme (group) for the required programme(s)/group (s) for the certificate defined under General.
The hours per module element result from the credits specified in the link. AE stands for unit of work.
The total scope is the value defined under General > Required credits, which does not change automatically.
The date corresponds to the course period. If the course lasts one day, the individual date is displayed. In the case of multi-day events and event series, only the first and last dates are displayed. The event periods are defined in the event editor in the Date(s) section.
PDF generation > Appendix
Appendix PDF
In addition to the generated document, an appendix in PDF format can be added. The appendix can contain additional general information relevant to the completion of the programme or programme group. Overall, the certificate including the appendix results in a single composite PDF document, the certificate.
